Perry Sfikas is lawyer admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. He is a former Maryland State Senator and a lifelong resident of southeast Baltimore. A graduate of George Washington University (B.A. Public and International Affairs, 1977; M.A. Science Technology and Public Policy, 1979) and the University of Baltimore Law School (Juris Doctor, 1985), Mr. Sfikas served as Congressional and Senatorial Aide to Senator Barbara Mikulski for 14 years before being elected to the Baltimore City Council in 1991 and to the Maryland State Senate in 1994.

Mr. Sfikas fought, first as a City Councilman, for a moratorium on the construction in incinerators in Baltimore, and then as a Senator, to finally assure the closure of the Pulaski incinerator. He was successful in efforts to halt the future proliferation of mega-bar facilities in Southeast Baltimore. In 1998, Mr. Sfikas worked successfully to secure over $2 million to begin revitalization and bring new development to Southeast Baltimore.
